Residential Solar

Solar panels are one of the most popular renewable energy solutions. Photovoltaic cells transform sunlight into a clean, reliable source of electricity, reducing carbon footprint and helping to shape a brighter, greener tomorrow.

Apollo offers eco-friendly solar installations to match all domestic and commercial needs. Our technicians even typically complete domestic installations in just one day. With this level of convenience, it's easy to see why popularity is rising.

Benefits of solar

The key ways a well-matched home solar system can help your bills, your carbon footprint and your property over time.

£

Saving you money

Generate your own electricity and reduce what you buy from the grid, protecting yourself from future price rises.

Typical impact: 20–40% lower annual electricity costs, depending on usage and roof.

CO₂

Environmental benefits

Each kWh you generate on your own roof is one less drawn from fossil fuel–heavy grid supply.

A typical system can offset over a tonne of CO₂ per year.

Low maintenance

Once installed, modern solar systems need very little day-to-day attention from you.

We design for low effort ownership and support you if anything needs a closer look.

EPC

Increases property value

A quality installation can improve your EPC rating and make your home more attractive to future buyers.

Buyers increasingly value homes that are cheaper and cleaner to run.

Why now is a good time to go solar

Energy prices have risen sharply and remain unpredictable. Solar lets you take back some control and lock in a share of your electricity costs.

38%

Average rise in electricity prices in recent years.

£850

Typical annual saving for a well-matched home system.

10 yrs

Indicative payback period, with 25+ years of clean power.

30%

Approximate bill reduction we aim for in many homes.

Figures are indicative and will vary between homes. We refine them with your real roof, usage and tariff in a consultation.

Use this simple slider to see what solar could do based on your current monthly electricity bill. It’s not a quote, just a way to get a feel before we look at your real data together.

Your system at a glance

Every roof is different, but most UK family homes fall into a similar range. Here’s a typical setup before we fine-tune yours.

System size

Around 4–6 kWp

Often 10–16 panels, depending on panel wattage and the space we can safely and sensibly use.

Roof space

Roughly 15–30 m²

Enough room on suitable roof faces to fit a system that makes a meaningful difference to your bills.

Expected output

Around 3,000–5,000 kWh/yr

The share of your electricity this covers depends on how and when you use power at home.

Warranty & lifespan

Up to 25 years

Panels typically have long performance warranties. Inverters are often 10–12 years, with extensions available.

Is solar right for my home?

This quick checklist isn’t a final answer, but if several points sound like you, there’s a good chance solar is worth exploring.

  • Mostly unshaded roof, with limited trees or chimneys directly in front of the main roof faces.
  • Roof roughly south, south-east or south-west facing. Other directions can still work with the right design.
  • You expect to stay in the property for several years or want to make it more attractive to future buyers.
  • Your electricity bill is more than around £60–70 per month and you’d like more control over it.
  • You’re open to investing now for lower running costs and a cleaner home energy mix over the long term.

Questions you might have

A few of the things people most often ask when they first look at solar. We’ll cover what matters for your home in more detail together.

How do you work out whether solar makes financial sense for my home?

We look at your current bills, tariff, roof and estimated usage pattern to model how much of your power solar could cover, then compare the installation cost with expected savings over time. You’ll see clear numbers, not just a headline percentage.

What happens if energy prices fall again after I install solar?

We model scenarios based on different price paths so you can see the impact. Solar doesn’t eliminate every risk, but it does give you a degree of independence from future price swings, and a system designed sensibly still provides value over its lifetime.

How disruptive is the installation process and how long does it take?

Most home systems are installed in one to two days. There’ll be some noise whilst scaffolding goes up and panels are fixed, but we work to keep disruption low and let you know exactly what to expect and when.

Do you handle permissions, grid notifications and safety checks?

Yes. We take care of the technical paperwork, grid notifications and relevant safety checks as part of the project, and you’ll receive the documents you need for your records.

What happens if a panel or the inverter develops a fault?

Modern systems are very reliable, but issues can happen. We specify equipment with strong warranties and support, and we’ll talk you through how faults are handled and what options you have for monitoring.

Will I need to change how and when I use appliances at home?

You don’t have to, but shifting some usage into daylight hours – for example running the washing machine or dishwasher when the sun is out – can increase the benefit you get from solar. We can share simple, realistic tips that work with your routine.

Ready to look at your numbers?

We’ll check your roof, your usage and your goals, then share a clear proposal with expected costs and savings for your home. No pressure – just information you can act on.
