Mounting system FAQs

A good mounting system should feel almost invisible once installed – but it’s doing some very important work. Here are some common questions we’re asked.

Mounting systems distribute the load safely into the roof structure and allow space for water to drain and air to circulate. Simply fixing panels directly to tiles or sheets risks damage, leaks and poor long-term performance.
In most cases, the solar array can be safely removed and re-installed once roof works are complete. Using recognised mounting systems makes it easier for roofers and installers to work together without compromising the structure.
We use methods that are widely accepted within the roofing and solar industry. Where required, we can work to manufacturer guidance or provide structural documentation so you have a clear record of how the array is fixed.
Quality mounting components are designed to last for the life of the solar array, often 25 years or more. Many of the systems we use offer extended warranties, and use materials that are highly resistant to corrosion and fatigue.
